ASPERMONT, S.L.- LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE…
Irishkaiser - People all talked about the glory of Rome and how it was the greatest thing to have ever happened to Western civilization and that it was destroyed by outside factors. I disagree, in hindsight, the Roman empire was destined to fail, ever since the inauguration of the Marian Reforms and the subsequent Empire. The reasons could be seen simply in where IT THRIVED, in where it was strong.
The matter of fact is, the Roman Empire’s stability depended on CONSTANT WARS OF EXPANSION. Soon as the Romans stopped expanding, they’ve began to start their eventual decline. The Roman state can be likened to to the Railroad Industry; there can only be so much railroads you can build before you get into market saturation.
All of Rome’s wealth, power and prestige came from its successful foreign adventures. The slaves acquired from conquered territories made their economy dependent on it and the ambitious politicians and dutiful citizenry used foreign conquests and governance as a way to catapult themselves to the top, making it a competition of talent. But, soon as their wars of expansion stopped, the free farmers of Rome found it very very difficult to compete with the large Roman estates who used slave labor to outproduce them. The race that was blessed with men of talent and ambition suddenly had no new fortune to acquire or new titles, lands and prestige. Where would they turn their energy and talent? Against each other to acquire THEIR fortunes.
The dutiful citizenry, who also had to be motivated by the honorable occupation of the army, suddenly were being replaced by foreigners and barbarian tribes and became idle.
Pretty much, the Roman Empire was destined to fail and it failed because of its strength(rapid expansion).
The Directory proudly announces that it delivered:
5 Chain Sets
5 Iron Swords
4 Infinity Bows
4 Iron Axes
In value exchange for
41 Health Potions
A trade run with tons of people involved on our side, but somewhat uneventful unlike the previous trade run led by Lieutenant_Joe where there was a ton of fighting. Not only that, but this Trade Run was also the LARGEST TURNOUT OF PROFITS in recent time ever, surpassing 38 potions. Participant included Boomer, cyclone_43, Mullins, some other guy…
Romero filled with premiums who were banned for cheating and then pretended to be white. All thanks to the 95th Regiment. Yes. :V
Two drills in a long time, with an excellent turnout of a 4v4. However, we only recorded the 2nd one, because of the amount of players.
Team Bare Minimum Bandits
Irishkaiser
Vergath
YakuzaFour
vs
Team Bedtime Bugs
boogaert(1st & 2nd round)
FinnMNMiner
*Shadow5138
Minecraftepic47(3rd round)
ROUND 1 The two teams started out in Aspermont proper with the Bare Minimum Bandits as attackers and the Bedtime Bugs as defenders. The Bandits flanked around and took the upper walls, giving them the initiative to decide where to attack. The attack however, was delayed, because Vergath had a hard time trying to get up the wall and so decided to assault the front gate.
When all the bandits were in position, the attack began and a melee ensued in the middle of the gates of Aspermont. Irishkaiser was killed in the attack, but YakuzaFour killed all three.
ROUND 2 Switching sides, the Bare Minimum Bandits became the defenders and a long search and destroy hunt took place. The two teams finally met at the Courtyard of Aspermont Keep and duked it out with YakuzaFour killing boogaert, thus giving the manpower advantage to the bandits. Irishkaiser proceeded to single out Finn and defeat him, while Vergath held Shadow5138 as Yakuza was healing.
Shadow5138 was finally killed by YakuzaFour and the Bandits won.
ROUND 3 Teams were transported to THE GALLEY BY THE PORT and an intense PIRATE FIGHT HAPPENED WITH GUNS, GRENADES AND SWORDS ALL BLASTING AND SLASHING. Yakuza killed Finn, but was killed in a friendly fire accident by Irishkaiser, who was killed by Minecraftepic47 who was killed by Vergath, who was finally killed by Shadow5138.
YARRGH.
