    Irishkaiser - The search for new blood to infuse the old is always a matter of importance. Generations of greatness is just that - a generation - and there is no guarantee of greatness in the next.

    A lot of the veterans we have may treat new members with disdain or some form of elitism that separates them from the newer blood, but it should be known as a reaction to feelings of no confidence or uncertainty of filling in their shoes - passing on their traditions, history and culture and legacy. I for one, consider it as a way to weed out the weak and see the few willing to try to fill in those shoes. What we must remember though is that it is not about our old selves at all. Old men should not bury everyone in golden tombs and instead should encourage the young to take risks and strike out on their own and make their own greatness and not just to live up to the expectations of the old - but to SURPASS IT.

    If I had an ancient family motto that I would enthusiastically imbue my children with such spirit, let it be this: “I carve my own path”
