    • HEADLINES: UTC conducts first Military Exercise with Friendly Groups

FROSTBAIN, M.L.- The UNKNOWN [?] Trading Company conducted its first war games with friendly groups in the Midlands last Saturday. The two participant groups named BLUFOR and YELFOR staged maneuvers and operations in the snowy region. The military exercise was considered a success and trained recruits from both sides in how to function in organized fighting and gave YELFOR more hands on experience in Squad-based tactics.

The War Games gave the UTC Forces, particularly its Officer Corps much needed insight on terrain, supply, maneuvering units and facing against groups that may use similar tactics.

During the middle of the War Games, sometime after SS was finished, a ceasefire was declared as a hostile group belonging to Pittacus, which who was considered a common enemy by both participants were intercepted by both BLUFOR and YELFOR forces, crushing them completely with overwhelming force. With the night becoming increasingly late, both sides ended the War Games and took a group screenshot

Valuable data was gained by the General Staff of the UNKNOWN [?] Trading Company, as well as insights to its own weaknesses in terms of tactics, maneuvering and even leadership style.

Irishkaiser - 2017? Al Hasa conquered by the UTC? Who knows. It all depends on the circumstance or if I’m not distracted by another war in the Midlands or in the West to complete preparations.

A War Game was conducted in the Midlands on the first and second servers between groups friendly to the UNKNOWN [?] Trading Company. The objective was SEARCH AND DESTROY where:

Each team is given a VIP to defend. The VIP is not allowed to server hop or leave the combat zone at any time. Troops may maneuver without restriction across the borders and may regear even on alts, but must only play on one account.

After the opposing VIP has been killed, the side with the VIP that is still alive must log out. If the surviving VIP is killed before they log out, then the round is considered a draw in terms of military results.

A report on the weaknesses of the UTC that would not give away its security have been compiled and made public, to encourage the officers who were in charge of their respective corps, companies or squads to change and improve or else they may be acted upon by their enemies.

CORPS Level - The Field General was more concerned with keeping himself alive(as defined in the objective) which made him subordinate himself to a Field Captain whose responsibility lay in protecting the objective(who was the general). The General didn’t step up enough to his role to the point that as soon as he advised to take the more aggressive approach, he was counter-manded immediately by a subordinate officer who insisted that the General stay with his retinue. The General throughout the operation did not make direct orders until the very end when Pittacus' Gang made movements in the server, the General only made suggestions as he kept forgetting if he was a soldier or an officer. Because of this, there was no effective unity of command during the Exercise because the General was also the objective and the objective was under the responsibility of the Field Captain of Banjo Company. This problem spilled over to Company Level.

COMPANY Level - The Field Captains both have very different ideas as how to operate and deploy their troops, with both sides taking two opposite extreme measures such as Abel Company all marching together as one, which exhausted food rather quickly and Banjo Company sending under-strength units to scout out areas while maintaining most of their troops in sizable reserve to guard the General. This could have been rectified by a more active Field General, but he was too much of a beta faggot to take control. Both Field Captains did not give a proper amount of trust and initiative to their own subordinates(and superior). Abel’s leader kept a tight leash on their retinue, in contrast, Banjo did not trust the General’s Squad and only trusted in his own men to the point of sending them on suicide missions. The Field Captains also did not use their common sense and exploit their advantage in numbers, with both sides assuming in strategy that they were the only force in the area. Once again, this could have been rectified by a more active Field General who had a clearer situational view and encouraged a more aggressive approach but was held back because he had dual-responsibilities.

SQUAD Level - The Squads of Abel were basically fighting units whose sole purpose was guard the Field Captain. No one was given much initiative of command and no opportunity was given for them to be deployed in a tactical manner as tactical units. The Squads of Banjo were glorified guards and scouts who did more logistical work than they did fighting work.

Logistical Level - Abel Company, because of their highly centralized set-up and forced group marching, did not have a reliable source of supply and exhausted themselves way too quickly to the point that they were crippled on the West side of the battlefield for quite some time. They were forced to wait for resupply from Banjo Company. Eventually, Abel Company was given a scout by Banjo Company to feed them, which was a good thing to notice that both Field Captains were not out to spite each other. Banjo Company did not suffer as much due to preparations before but set themselves up in areas that were practically devoid of food due to Banjo Company’s captain’s strategy of avoiding the enemy as much as possible. This was rectified due to preparations made by the Field General on supplies, however, it is noted that willingly throwing entire Companies into dire areas was considered incompetent.

Strategic Level - On a strategic level, both companies did not make efficient use of their assets as an entire force. This is mostly attributed to a weak Field General who made himself a bitch to a Field Captain, but he noted that he only did so because he did out of discipline. Both sides operated as if they’re the only force in the area and made decisions based on the distance and numbers employed by their own respective companies and not of each other. With no unified command, both companies effectively operated as independent armies cooperating, and not as one force.

Communication Level - Communication in the Corps, Companies and Squads were excellent, but a problem still arises as some people still talk over Teamspeak than in Discord which can be solved by more experience only. An issue is that some units, such as Banjo Company’s scouts, who had died to YELFOR, was not taught properly how to scout and or at the very least call out if he was under attack or whatever it takes to give us information. That’s OK, he’s a recruit.

All the strengths of the UNKNOWN [?] Trading Company were omitted to preserve its security against possible enemies and draw them into fights where we are strongest. It should be noted that the public revealing of our weaknesses spotted by the General Staff should encourage officers to change their behavior and methods or else risk getting your ass whooped by others who know how too cautious or too aggressive you are.

    • DOMESTIC Military Mission to a Secret Ally considered a success

The Military Mission to train Dawn Brigade and helping modernize their forces was considered a success after seeing this image. It was criticized however that only one has shown vast improvement, though most of their recruits have not given any opportunity to distinguish themselves, efforts are to be made to train more “Shraugers” for the Dawn Brigade.

Mr.Pi is to be given an Eagle of the Empire for his services in helping modernize Dawn Brigade’s forces.
