ASPERMONT, WESTERLANDS- Passed in the Assembly, a new governing body to create a centralized nerve system for the UNKNOWN [?] Trading Company’s armies and operation groups was established, responsible for the continuous study of all aspects of war, and for drawing up and reviewing plans for mobilization or campaign
Setting-up the training, the doctrine, analyzing, processing and interpreting intelligence and as supreme head of the UTC in terms of operational matters, allocating resources as they see fit to its composition armies. The current officers of the former Army of Observation have been mostly transferred to its role. Consequently, the Army of Observation being a redundant army was disbanded as its responsibilities were passed on to the Imperial General Staff, forming the basis of a centralized armed forces for the UNKNOWN [?] Trading Company.
The current agenda of the Imperial General Staff is to investigate options for change to deal with the decrease of a likely threat of the premiums and more on pacification missions and peacekeeping operations. Its primary goal however is still to defend Company interests at home and abroad.
Who knows, maybe one day, we’ll have a dedicated full-time, professional volunteer force known as the Imperial [?] Army instead of just citizen-soldiers and conscript augmentation.
Irishkaiser- The 1.9 update has had some major community and meta-game impacts. One, the disestablishment of the premium PvPer power base and the overall changes in item distributions. Yadda yadda yadda, I’m just saying, we gotta modernize.
The Directory proudly announces that it has delivered
2 Infinity Bows
1 Chain Sets
2 Iron Swords
in value exchange for
14 Health Potions
This trade run was deliberately made a “short” trade run, to buy time for preparation of a Big Offensive planned by Task Force Chester. Unfortunately, Irishkaiser totally forgot of a planned and announced power maintenance that lasted from 5AM to 11AM and totally missed it. He did however sell his stuff AFTER the Big Offensive.
Small scale drills and a large scale inter-regimental one was conducted by the regiments of the Company. Particularly, Irishkaiser oversaw the flaws and errors of each individual when it came to combat, with one member increasing his combat effectiveness by 100% and has become a machine gunner.
Certain members were noted for their leadership ability and planning, while some were noted for their shortcomings. The drill has shown a lack of doctrinal cohesion as mixing up certain members gives off very clunky inter-operability with people not knowing when to stay close or stay far or what to do when officers move around or even give out messages. Some are confused as to whether they should be more aggressive or defensive, which is a problem when it might come to the real deal when officers are changed or reshuffled.
The Drills showcased weaknesses more than strengths, which is good because that was the point. Some people were getting better than before, others, are still earning. All have improved.
The Company in the past week has established two new factories that can provide 3-4 battle inventories a day if requested. This opens up the possibilities of giving the luxury of increased preparation time duration and of course, the possibility of a volunteer military, rebalancing the UTC’s military:civilian ratio to be more skewed to the civilian side in peacetime.
Not a lot of people are quick to adopt this as old habits and expectations still create a culture of gearing up for themselves. In order to ease the transition, the factories will be encouraged to just “finish” gearing up for people, who will now only be expected to be “half-geared” and will let the Company take care of the rest. Right now, this only applies to members of standing Company forces or operations groups.
If YOU ARE A MEMBER OF A STANDING UTC FORCE, DON’T BE AFRAID OR ASHAMED TO ASK IF YOU NEED STUFF. It will be the responsibility of Logistics to requisition items needed and the Imperial General Staff has currently given Task Force Chester a “blank cheque”. Need something? Ask us. We have it.
A long and large battle fought all over the Midlands(though the actual engagements were sporadic and on smaller scale) on the 17th of May was won by members of Task Force Chester, earning the composition regiments of the 1st Regiment and the 234th Regiment the right to bear “MIDLANDS 2017” on their Colours and pages. The battle was analyzed by Company as its first true taste of modern 1.9 combat. The fighting showed the grim determination of both sides with the enemy’s determination considered “stupid”.
A day later after the acquisition of the Battle Honour, members of Task Force Chester Became cocky and within two days, acquired a total of 8 casualties. Some of those deaths were even considered “insanity” as they came from a force member who was repeating the same mistakes over and over again. The second day however resulted in 6 extra kills from both target groups and random bandits, avenging the loss. The cockiness and “invincibility” attitude at one point almost made it a point of discussion to replace the Commander in Chief of Task Force Chester with Company veterans who were already trained for war and to take matters in their own hands and settle the problem.
The movement stopped because it was reminded that a purpose of this force is that it would also be a “live-fire” exercise group that would expose and teach newer individuals about the ways of war. The defeats should have been taken as a lesson and that so far, blunders are to be expected as they should give the newer officers and members a taste of what would happen if mistakes were made in a REAL CONFLICT. Especially that ONE GUY WHO KEPT MAKING THAT SAME MISTAKE IN TWO DAYS. You know who you are.
We went through all that trouble assembling and preparing and what the fuck do we get - TWO KILLS. TWO FUCKING KILLS. KILL ME. But then again, this may be a sign that what we’re doing is working and we’re driving the enemy out. Maybe. Or nobody was just on that day.
Cyclone_43 took a leave to pursue something(not clear if he wanted it to be public or not, so I will let him decide if he wants to give it away), to which the entire UTC collectively facepalmed at his OVERWHELMING STUPIDITY. He was granted his leave because it was his right, but his explanation was SO BAD OF AN IDEA that it reportedly killed three people in the UTC main chat. All who died were members of the 1st Regiment who valiantly did everything they could to clean up the nuclear fallout from his balls out stupid gay ass bitch ass shit creek of a decision.
His pursuit has marred his chances for Directory because it was just THAT BAD. HOLY SHIT. NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD DO THAT. We wish him clear lessons and not luck for he is what he makes of himself, but he will be welcomed back in the UTC when he returns, except with beatings because we’re still not over his explanation.
Company Member YakuzaFour was punished for betraying the trust of someone who wanted protection in the UTC. That person who wishes to keep his privacy has been granted a slave, namingly YakuzaFour. He will do whatever he says for the next couple of weeks or whatever cause what else does he want? Orange juice? He already got a nice Japanese slave.
Gold-2, has scored many kills, many avenger deaths and other stuff. He gets a Gold Star.
We are about 32% to Phase II.
There’s opportunity even in less than opportune conditions.
Members of the Exchequer somehow noticed that their money after audits - had actually doubled and reported it to their bank service provider who realized an anomaly was brewing up in the account. In MineZ’s terms, we practically “duped” money.
The Exchequer cleared and balanced the anomaly and the true amount of money we have is restored. Some may question why the Exchequer actually decided to report on about 100% financial gain. Spyware in a press conference said
“I do not trust any money I have not earned.” explaining “I fear that I may have printed money accidentally out of thin air, though more likely I would’ve just ‘stole’ from the bank service provider who has to cover the extra money that was ‘duped’, but the mere idea of suddenly generating new money out of nowhere with no limit scares the inner economist in us.”
Spyware later continued on with a boring lecture on economics but the basic gist of this is that he practically contributed to inflation and that is what he fears the most. Eventually, if it is kept unchecked, the money we have on hand will be worthless because it would just be taken out of thin air. Currency to Goods proportion should be matched somehow or at least kept in check as if currency becomes “infinite” in proportion to goods which are “scarce”, then the money, in practicality, becomes worthless since there is so much of it that it can buy anything. So to match the increase of money, goods therefore increase the costs.
