    • HEADLINES: SHRAUGER CONDUCTS HISTORIC UTC DEAL

ASPERMONT, WESTERLANDS- Company Member Shrauger has conducted a historic deal. The details of this deal are kept vague for security purposes, however, its position in the news is for me to write a wiki about it in the future if the events transpired are beneficial in the long-run and or hindsight.

The codeword to authenticate this event is: Victor-Alpha.

    • EDITORIAL “Logistics of the Luftwaffe in the Second World War”

Military History Visualized- In order to understand the logistics of the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) in World War 2, we must take a look at the rearmament process, the military control of the industry, the attitude towards logistics and the dominance of the operational-tactical approach.

The German re-armament focused on a fast build-up of arms and equipment. To achieve this many different models were produced by a wide range of companies. Yet, such an approach increases the cost of maintenance and supply due to the wide range of different vehicles and weapons.

This problem becomes apparent, if you look at the numbers in 1943: the US Army Air Force has 18 types of aircraft, whereas Germany had 50. This problem was prevalent in other areas too, like the armament of planes.

Take the B-17, it had one type of defensive gun, the 0.50 cal machine gun, whereas the He-111-H6 had three different types: 7.92 mm, 13mm and 20mm. Nearly every German plane usually had a combination of at least two different types of guns throughout the war, whereas the US Forces usually used only one type of gun at all.

This problem was to a certain degree due to the control of the arms industry by the Luftwaffe. Until 1944 as the only branch of the German Armed Forces, it controlled its own industry. Which was in contrast to the United States, where the industry delivered the units most suited for mass production to the military.

Now, these circumstances were already problematic, but although German engineering is usually highly regarded throughout the world. The relationship of the military and engineering was “complicated” at best.

Many officers had a lack of technical understanding and were fine with it, some were even blatantly ignorant. Technology for them and thus the engineers were basically “meager”/mere servants.

This is divide between military and engineering is well illustrated by the debate about special insignias for technical officers. It was assumed that a technical officer would be perceived as less valuable by normal officers.

The attitude of the military towards technological and logistical matters manifested itself in the overall doctrine and principles. Primacy of the operational-tactical approach vs. logistics

For instance, the primacy of the operational-tactical thinking was codified in the directive for the quartermaster. It clearly states that the supply chain management acts as a servant to the operational and tactical command.

“Alle im Versorgungsdienst tätigen Offiziere und Fachbearbeiter müssen sich bewußt sein, daß die Versorgung stets Dienerin der operativen und taktischen Führung ist und niemals zu deren Hemmschuh werden darf.” (Horst Boog, S. 242-243; referring to Quartiermeister-Vorschrift, Berlin 1936)

“All officers and clerks working in the supply services must be aware that the supply chain management is always servant of operational and tactical leadership and must never become the stumbling block.”

This is again in contrast to the Allies, in the RAF War Manual on operations, it is stated that every operational commander had to be aware of the supply/logistical situation. Yet, there is nothing similar in the German directive.

To conclude, the German Air Force was well suited for small and short wars with its operational (and military) focus, but the fast buildup and military dominance in industrial matters lead to a logistical nightmare as the war prolonged and turned into a war of attrition. Whereas other air forces usually adapted their logistical approach, the German Air Force command was reluctant due to disregard for anything outside of the operational and tactical realm. Thus, to a certain degree the Luftwaffe resembled very well the so called “Knights of the Skies”, yet in a time when the outcome of a war was mostly determined by “mere servants”.

Another uneventful trade run, so Shrauger was designated to lead the main force. Encounter with Southern bandits still showcased Shrauger’s notorious reputation for reluctance. Brotado also demonstrated his incompetence with the grapple which resulted in him losing his entire splash inventory during combat(though he survived).

    • DOMESTIC Cheaters on the Down-low After Last New’s Exposure

After the exposure to the media of multiple implications of cheatings by different groups last week, attacks and other offenses have went down as UTC players keep their eyes peeled, watching and on guard. Some Company Members use this as confirmation because now they do not know where UTC are and thus cannot coordinate or jump properly since they lack the knowledge of where the UTC is now. Others who heard that claim cautioned that it does not prove anything, though it does raise suspicion.

When asked have they been on, assets of the General Staff have responded in the affirmative in the last week.

    • DOMESTIC 234th Regiment of Whitehaven Scandal - Miscarriage of Justice

The 234th Regiment of Whitehaven was exposed in a major miscarriage of justice involving their member Godlikespie who requested the rest of the UNKNOWN [?] Trading Company to at least hear his plea against the outrageous acts and decisions done by the Cy-Clone Army. His request was granted, AS IS THE TRADITION OF OUR FOREFATHERS TO INTERVENE IN A REGIMENT WHEN A REGIMENTAL ASKS …

An investigative commission was set up by the Directory immediately after hearing that the leaders(: cyclone_43, Fercho_ and Judas. Alongside some cooperative members of the Whitehaven Regiment who defended themselves saying “they just did what they’re told”. The outrageous acts that infuriated the Directory is described below

    1) Logged into his alts that he trusted them with

    2) Raided all items of value

    3) Killed THREE of the alts

    4) ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE THEIR PASSWORDS. HOLY SHIT

The Directory immediately demanded a report and defense from the account raiders. The raiders published their report on the 2nd of July, 2017 but awaits consent from the rest of the publishers before publishing it online, with the exception of Godlikespie who was given the document. The Inquiry looked over and presided in the document and came to the conclusion that NONE OF THE REASONS LISTED BY THE RAIDERS(disrespect of officers, does not understand code of conduct, sexual harassment?) WARRANTED THEIR ACTIONS.

The only reason that could have justified their actions(attempted espionage and sabotage), were unwarranted, unfounded and unsubstantiated with the defense itself admitting

No conclusive evidence but there were countless instances which didn’t add up, 234th leadership didn’t want to take any risks and did not want history to repeat itself.

The inquiry came to the conclusion that it was just the delusional paranoia and muh feelings of a bunch of guys who felt offended by some guy and their Dutch humor.

Irishkaiser who was so disgusted by the abuse and miscarriage of justice, momentarily became Platinum and threatened Cyclone and the rest of the 234th with a knife, but remembered he was a law-abiding citizen.

Godlikespie was later vindicated and the UTC promises compensation for his losses.
