    HEADLINES: THE EDUCATION ISSUE

ASPERMONT, WESTERLANDS - Company [?] Major Irishkaiser has reviewed the idea of establishing proper educational institutions in the clan as part of its reforms for helping to establish a pool of better qualified personnel that has fine critical thinking, specialized talents and skills.

Basically, a comprehensive education to make up for their “comprehensive education”.

The idea came to the Right Honourable when during a conversation he realized that many in the UTC have completely lost Company Diction and some have even advised more “tact” when talking to certain people because it would not be “politically correct”. The rhetoric has become so mixed with the others, that the classics seem to have been forgotten and one Company Member had to choose between a modern animated web series or the original when asked about a reference to a quip of 30 pieces of silver(the price Judas was given when he betrayed Jesus).

Also, Irishkaiser had one of those crazy ideas again where it might just work because his gut told him to. Whether or not the effort will work all depends. Right now, practically no one in MineZ is “educated” to say the least and having an institution that advances scientific and philosophical thinking will help maintain the edge we have over others.

Others suspect he just wanted to initiate dialogue like this

And who knows, maybe one day we'll even have our own mini universities through other learned men Probably come up with something like the Aspermont School of Economics And then the old guard universities will be all snobbish and consider them unimportant "Oh where did you learn that?" "At the ASE" "I'm so sorry."

EDITORIAL - The Iron Lady - Margaret Thatcher

Irishkaiser - There are few people who are as divisive yet successful as the former Prime Minister of Great Britain, Margaret Hilda Thatcher nee' Roberts. She is thoroughly hated in the North, whilst her reputation can go both ways in the South. Her unyielding character gave her the epithet “The Iron Lady” - which is best crowned on a person who once said “We shall either stand on principle, or we shall not stand at all!”.

How can someone so hated be so successful? Well, we must take a look at the state of Britain in the 1970s. Fresh from the Suez Crisis, the British government and its people seemed to be resigned to decreasing relevance. Home issues were the primary concern and in order to maintain votes, the politicians of the time concerned themselves with appeasing voters through politics and giving in to their demands, even though they made little economic sense, as long as the voters were happy and the people appeased… At least temporarily… With “jobs” that didn’t make a lick of sense and a lot of the times, NEVER MADE ACTUAL PROFITS AT ALL.

Now naturally this system could not be sustained and so the Winter of Discontent happened in the late 70s and it was through the Winter of Discontent that the Conservative Party under the leadership of Margaret Thatcher gained power and enacted their own reforms.

The UK at this time had its own June Reforms where instead of concentrating on appeasing voters, Margaret Thatcher’s government concentrated on creating the CONDITIONS NECESSARY to lift Britain out of its economic slump. Government-subsidized mines in the North were closed, leaving thousands jobless and in dire economic straits. To this day, they still serve as a huge point of contention when talking about Thatcher.

But now that those mines were forced closed, Britain’s budget was freed. What followed was a chain of cutting off Britain’s highly regulated and nationalized economy and given to private owners whose goal was to generate profit.

When most politicians are faced with questions of the economy, the appeasers will tell people the goal is “creating jobs”. Thatcher didn’t want to create jobs. She wanted to create an attractive place of growth. You can’t do that by pretending you’re six foot eight while you’re actually five foot deux.

At the start these seemed to turn Margaret Thatcher an enemy of the people following her penny-pinching. Then, a stroke of luck… Well, miscalculation. Argentina saw that Mrs.Thatcher’s position was tenuous and so launched a war to reclaim the Malvinas and proceeded to lose it - all while underestimating the resolve, tenacity and unbreakable will of the Iron Lady. The Falklands War gave Thatcher a huge surge of patriotic support and saw her government through to be able to see the fruits of the reforms she enacted.

Britain’s economic growth spiked and during her tenure, became the highest growing in Europe. Her policies became known as Thatcherism… And though hated, her final victory was that eventually, they all agreed what she did was right… From her own opponents who said:

    “We are all Thatcherites now”

Love her, hate her. She was the hero Britain needed, but didn’t deserve.

PvP Drill 149th Mass PvP Event - REPORTS

All vital information will be omitted or kept intentionally vague. Anyway, here’s some reports

    1) At certain hours, huge lag spikes hit the servers. The Recon Team personally took this to their advantage and ironically gave them confidence, thinking the best time to attack would be DURING a lag spike in which others would not be used to fighting in lag.

    That is all.

    2) Certain places are now considered of geostrategic importance.
