HEADLINES: NEW CULTURAL RENAISSANCE WAVE IN THE UTC?
ASPERMONT, WESTERLANDS - A strong wave of cultural renaissance was noted to be blooming in the UNKNOWN [?] Trading Company, some by a few Citizens who want to honour the Company's values in a world they deem to be "changing for the worse", and others who find solace in something that never changed for a long time as they were growing up.
Things that were taken for granted in the past such as freedom of speech, privacy of the individual, freedom of commerce, the rule of law, a truly independent judiciary, inalienable rights, etc. etc.
Things in general that are just being taken for granted in most democratic countries.
Even as something as simple as being honest with our defeats in a community that always tried to hide, twist and manipulate the truth. A few works, some still under production have been commissioned to honor the community we have built and her diverse people and citizenry of talented individuals.
Will this be our Third Renaissance? Who knows. I'll leave a poem being worked on.
EDITORIAL - Hard Decisions to Make.
Irishkaiser - Too often we look at history and say to ourselves "X should have done this" "Y should have done that". But every time, we see history "repeat" or "rhyme", but always we act from the comfort of armchair hindsights.
But many times, we forget that those people, those individuals placed on the precipice of historical impact, have many things to consider. Too often we blame leaders for everything, when the people should be the one to be blamed. When too many groups are being satisfied by one individual, most of the time no one is satisfied.
When the leader makes it easier to govern by only satisfying a few groups, then we condemn them for cutting everyone else out.
Too many times we blamed Hitler for things Hitler was subject to. Too many times we gave credit to George Washington who at times GOT REALLY FUCKING LUCKY I SWEAR TO GOD.
But it's not just leaders. Individuals of no power but of great note also make their choices based on what they could see at the moment.
An example of this is the Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava. A confusing series of orders, amplified by officer rivalry and egos clashing during the entirety of the campaign all in the end trying to follow a simple order: "prevent the Russians from capturing British guns".
Lord Cardigan himself asked "Attack what guns, sir?" to which Captain Nolan broadly pointed in the general direction of the enemy and said "There are your guns!"
Lord Cardigan of course as a soldier only had naught but to obey himself, being placed on what he probably deemed as "no choice" and advanced on what he only saw. As we all know what happened, Captain Nolan was killed by a mortar blast while trying to correct Lord Cardigan as he was joining them in the fight. Sometimes, events forces us to take things we cannot see clearly and we shouldn't be so judgmental.

DOMESTIC - ENCRYPTION CHANGED
Because it's such a bitch to manually input individual messages into our encryption system, from hereon the following Encrypted Messages will all be one sentence. This may explain to some of you decrypting it and wondering why the first one is great, but the rest is nonsense.
Everything will be encrypted in one paragraph will be ONE message, and no longer individual messages.
DOMESTIC - COMMISSIONED ART PIECE - 93RD MEMBER AT AFAYA.
A commissioned piece of artwork of a 93rd Member at Afaya, by Irishkaiser was released last week and hammered on the Lonely Hearts Club Band chat in Arbreton.
When asked what he wanted out of this work, the commissioner said "I just want to admire it. Probably print it and place it on top of my computer".
DOMESTIC - VISA PROGRAM REINSTATED FOR PEOPLE OF "USEFUL TALENT"
The Visa Program has been reinstated but has greatly decreased the amount of tourists or people who just want to hang out in the UTC chat. Instead, people who apply for Visa in the UNKNOWN [?] Trading Company will most likely be looked at for their skills and talents that the UTC cannot find in its own Empire & Commonwealth.
Basically, if you have no skills or talents we don't want or need, you've practically got no luck.
Those who have their current Permanent Visas however will maintain them.
